Amonoka means "peaceful home" in Sanskrit and peace is what you will find at this roomy, classic villa facing the sea and Buck Island on a ridge above Teague Bay. Alongside The Reef golf course on St. Croix's east end, you'll arrive at a gated entry, framed with bougainvillea, that opens to reveal the private road leading up to this lovely home.

	Upon entering through a door accented by a stained glass panel, you'll be delighted by the abundant space, both indoors and out, where everyone can spread out and enjoy the views. Pickled cypress beamed ceilings provide classic Caribbean atmosphere along with the breezy floor plan that flows from room to room.
Indoors, your great room has a dining area to the right and a sitting area to the left, with a separate media room tucked alongside. It's outfitted with comfy tropically-styled recliners, satellite television, and a highspeed internet connection, even extra sleeping space if you need it.

A modern kitchen, open to all the action, is trimmed in cobalt blue tiles on gleaming white, and has every appliance you might want to make quick work of cleanup during your vacation. Stroll down the gentle slope in front of your villa to pick tropical fruits in Amonoka's orchard for breakfast or to garnish a drink made of local rum. Oranges, lemons, limes, guavas, bananas, and carambolas, also called star fruits, all have their seasons here.
	Two bedrooms are to the far left, both with sliding glass doors facing the Caribbean. One, in bright coral with white wicker, has twin beds; the second in sea blue has a private deck facing the valley's golf course below. In the master wing to the right of the house, a spacious bedroom in yellow has the ultimate luxury: double "his and hers" bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a tub, separated by a large closet. There's even an outdoor shower with a view of Buck Island just off your private balcony.

A most desirable feature of Amonoka is its generous outdoor spaces-the tiled gallery and decks fan out around a large pool to face the island's most desirable views. Dining in your bathing suit, relaxing with the reading you've meant to do, or even swimming a few laps, you won't miss a moment of the delightful scenery.
	Across the sparkling sea is the Buck Island Reef National Monument, an uninhabited island under the auspices of the National Park Service where pleasure boats glide in for snorkeling or swimming. Below your villa is Teague Bay and the St. Croix Yacht Club, home to yachts that will entertain you as they raise their sails to set off or return.
Beaches are just minutes away along with other daytime pursuits-the colonial town of Christiansted is within a short drive by car for shopping, sightseeing, and a full choice of gourmet restaurants. After dinner, the island's casino is just on the other side of the island from your villa, for a convenient game or two of chance before bed.
